Sandton: Focused and intelligence driven operations took place in Sandton policing precinct in the past weekend followed twenty three suspects brought in to books for various crimes.
On Saturday, 31st October 2020 at about 16:40 complainant was busy on his i-phone when unknown male came snatched his phone and ran away. He reported matter to the police who were patrolling around Morningside.
Police gave chase to the suspects according to the information that were busy robbing people in that vicinity. Five (5) male suspects between 27 and 30 years were nabbed for possession of suspected stolen Cellphone including the one the complainant reported his phone was snatched.
Other incident of rape, complainant alleged that on the 30th October 2020 at about 16:00 her manager booked a room in the hotel in Sandton for them to work on the back log.
They worked and after some time the manager acted inappropriate and the complainant addressed him that she don’t like it. He forced himself to her and raped her. She came to the Community Service Centre to report the suspect was arrested immediately.
Other crimes whereby suspects were arrested: four (4) male suspects between 27 and 30 years old for house breaking implements, two (2) male suspects for reckless and negligence driving, one (1) 37 years old male suspect was found in possession of unlicensed firearm, one (1) male suspect for rape case, two (2) suspect for theft, one (1) person for Driving While under the influence, two (2) were arrested for fraud cases, three (3) male suspects brought to books for shoplifting, one (1) male suspect for negligence of handling firearm, one (1) sexual harassment and one (1) for bilking.
