Many have pointed to an especially ominous trend—the tribalization of the United States along racial and ethnic lines in the context of a reigning minoritarian ideology that privileges those claiming to be victims. The polyglot nature of American society makes sorting out these features extremely difficult except along crudely reductive “racial” lines.
