On Friday night, a tiger escaped a property in Walkerville, South of Johannesburg. The female tigress, named Sheba, escaped as a fence on the property was allegedly cut through by criminals, according to reports.
There has been an active search for the tigress, since her escape. The search for her continues today. According to TimesLive, she attacked one man who is currently receiving care for his injuries, she attacked and killed one dog, and attacked a second dog which sadly had to be euthanised due to its injuries.
Members of the community policing forum (CPF) of the area are searching for the tiger, together with police, and the SPCA is also involved. Announcements were made for the community to stay indoors and be careful until the tigress is found, and also not to approach her is she is spotted.
